Two St Catherine men charged with murder; Robbery suspect held in St Mary
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police have arrested and charged two men in relation to the May 6 murder of 39-year-old Everald Kepple otherwise called ‘Dila’ of McCooks Pen, St Catherine.
The accused are 25-year-old Shane Roberts and 38-year-old Gerado Douglas otherwise called ‘Rado’ both of Mason River, Clarendon and McCooks Pen in St Catherine.
Reports from the police are that about 7:30 am on Monday, May 6, Kepple was making a purchase inside a shop, when he was reportedly attacked by both accused, along with a third man, armed with handguns and a machete.
It is said that the men opened gunfire at Kepple as he ran from the shop before falling on the McCooks Pen main road where the accused men allegedly stood over him, shot and chopped him while he laid on the ground, before leaving the scene.
Both men have also been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Meanwhile, in St Mary, 20-year-old France Gardener of Eden Hill was charged with the armed robbery of three persons in Jacks River in the parish on June 27.
Reports from the Oracabessa police are that about 10:45 pm, three persons were on their way home when two men travelling on a motorcycle, one armed with a gun, approached them and proceeded to rob them of three cellular phones, $30,000 and other items.
On Thursday, September 5, Gardner was arrested and charged with robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of firearm on Saturday, September 14.
