Doha 2019: Rasheed Dwyer, Andre Ewers out of Men’s 200m
DOHA, Qatar — A fifth-place finish for Rasheed Dwyer in heat one and sixth in heat two from Andre Ewers ruled both Jamaicans out of the Men’s 200 metres at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The first of three heats was won in a season’s best 20.03 seconds by Adam Gemili of the USA.
He held off the 2017 champion Ramil Guliyev of Turkey, who got to the line in 20.16s to book the second automatic spot.
The USA’s Noah Lyles won heat two in 19.86s ahead of Ecuador’s Alex Quinonez
(19.95s)
Dwyer clocked 20.54s, while Ewers finished in 20.61s.
