Ghost to bring Vibes tonight
Dancehall singer Ghost is the headline act at tonight’s staging of Mello Vibes scheduled to take place at Mas Camp in Kingston. This edition of the popular retro party series is dubbed Girls Town.
According to the organiser, this the first time in the event’s more than decade-long existence that a live performance will be part of the package.
“We always work with our patrons. They asked us for a talent like Ghost and we worked it out beautifully and we got him,” promoter Gyete Ghartey of GLK Entertainment told the Jamaica Observer.
Ghost, who got his break in the late 1980s as part of the duo Ghost and Culture, is best known as a member of the Monster Shack Crew, which also comprised Round Head and General B.
Ghost’s large catalogue of hits include So Strong, Do You Believe, If Walls Could Talk, Number Two, East Side and Love You.
Ghartey explained what patrons should expect tonight.
“They can expect non-stop dancing. Mello Vibes is the only retro party that plays music from the 70s, 80s and 90s,” he said.
DJs Marvin and Krazy Kris have been commissioned to spin the hit songs, and take patrons on a nostalgic musical journey.
