Doha 2019: Natoya Goule qualifies on time for 800m final
DOHA, Qatar — Natoya Goule has qualified as one of the fastest losers for the final of the women’s 800-metre race at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Haliham Nakaayi of Uganda won the heat in 1:59.35 after bustling between Kenya’s Eunice Sum and Goule in the final 100 metres.
Goule was put off her stride by that contact-heavy move and faded to fourth in 1:00:33.
Sum, the 2015 world champion, was second in 2:00:10 and USA’s Ce Aira Brown was third in 2:00:12.
