Doha 2019: Jordan Scott fails to qualify for triple jump final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Jordan Scott did not make it through to the men’s triple jump finals at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships currently underway in Doha, Qatar.
Scott could only make one attempt of 14.73 metres in the triple jump before he pulled up injured and failed to complete his final two jumps.
Pedro Pablo Pichardo of Portugal jumped a huge 17.38m on his first attempt to automatically qualify for the finals, while the other automatic qualifier, Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso, was through with 17.17m on his second jump.
The other 10 finalists fell short of the qualifying mark but qualified with jumps of 16.87m or better.
