Lightning believed to be the source of Supreme Court fire
Proceedings at the Supreme Court in downtown Kingston were disrupted this afternoon (Wed, Sept 25) due to a fire on the roof of the building.
Some members of staff noticed smoke coming from the roof and called the fire brigade which was quick on the scene. Staff members and judges were told to evacuate the building.
It is reported that lightning struck an air conditioning unit, triggering the fire. The heavy downpour kept the fire from spreading.
