KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican teen sprint sensation Briana Williams has been withdrawn from the Jamaican team to the 17

IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar after the JAAA named Jonelle Smith as the third woman in the 100m late this evening.
Williams, who was given a public warning by the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (IADP) after a two-day hearing in Kingston this week, escaped a ban and her coach Ato Boldon told OBSERVER ONLINE earlier that she would not go to Doha but added “she will be back”.
Smith, who had finished fourth in the women’s 100m finals at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships that was used as the Trials to select the team, has been named to accompany Elaine Thompson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
The first round of the women’s 100m is set to be run at 8:30 am Jamaica time on Saturday, the second day of the championships.
