Hirie has big dreams
HAWAIIAN reggae singer Hirie earns her third slot on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, with Dreamer, which opens at number two. The 11-track set was released September 13 by Hirie Music and features collaborations with Slightly Stoopid and Iration.
Hirie previously topped the chart with her 2016 set, Wandering Soul. Her self-titled album, released in 2015, peaked at number five.
For a third week, World On Fire by Stick Figure retains the number one spot. It has sold more than 12,000 copies since its release in August.
Ways of The World by The Movement slips to number three, while Jah Cure’s Royal Soldier is down to number four.
Xyclone’s The Year of the Wolf re-enters the chart at number five, having peaked at number three in July, while Local Motion by Pepper rebounds two places to number six.
Tropical House Cruises to Kingston Reloaded by DJ Grid is number seven, while Self Confidence, the latest effort from Jemere Morgan (son of Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage) is back in the chart at number eight.
Morgan peaked in that position in June and gave the singer his second top 10 entry. In 2017, he reached number two with Transition.
Former chart-topper Beleaf by Indubious rises from number 14 to nine, having topped the chart in August. Iration’s self-titled album is number 10.
On other Billboard charts, Toast by Koffee is number one on the Reggae Digital Song Sales Chart. Banana by Conkarah featuring Shaggy rises to number 28 on the Dance Club Songs Chart.
