A COMMON AGENDA — Alfred Thomas
On Fatherhood:
One thing I’ve learned over the years is always to be present for the boys and Abby when I travelled; I travelled a lot. I would make it a point of my duty to call back home. The mantra is, they are to do their homework and then I would call to check on it to make sure it was done. The other thing that I believe that caused my family to have done well, is the fact that there’s a Christian push into it.
Father to: Andre Stefan, Robert and Abigail Thomas
Ages: 29, 26 and 18 years old respectively
What’s the story behind Abigail’s name?
My daughter was named Abigail, as in the Bible’s Abigail. The name therefore reflects a beautiful and bright lady with great wisdom and poise.
A very wise and strong woman whose timely intervention prevented a tremendous tragedy….lots of bloodshed.
In today’s world she would be a great violence interruptor.
What were your immediate thoughts at the birth of your child?
Thank God, she is a healthy child.
What a beautiful baby!
A gift from God.
À la Stevie Wonder:
Isn’t she lovely?
Isn’t she wonderful?
Isn’t she precious?
We have been heaven-blessed!
