On Fatherhood:
I am really enjoying fatherhood with my children; they have made me very proud. Some of my proudest moments were given to me by my children.
They achieve well, they behave well, they’re focused, and they make the journey very easy for me as a father.
Father to: Rennard, Jon-Marc and Dimitri-William Burgess
Ages: 27, 15 and 11 years old, respectively
What’s the story behind Dimitri’s name?
My wife and myself had both agreed on
(a) a double-barrelled/hyphenated name
(b) inclusion of one of my middle names
She liked Dimitri; I liked William. So we merged the two and decided on Alexander as my middle name to be included.
What were your immediate thoughts at the birth of your children?
As always, my primary concern at the birth of my three kids is/was — are they healthy and is their mom well?
Once I got a clean bill of health, that’s when the celebrations started for me.
