SO Brittany McCulloch
To my little darling,
The days pass all too slowly as I anxiously await your arrival. I can already imagine your tiny hands holding mine as I tell you all about this great world and how it is now even greater because you are here in it.
I feel as if I already know you, from your little (or not so little) kicks and somersaults in my tummy, to the times I dream I can see your face. You have no idea the love that is here ready to welcome you and keep you safe. However, keeping you in my tummy for so many months has not been a complete walk in the park. You seem to have made me very “heavy” (I dare not say fat but these swollen ankles say otherwise), emotional and hungry! Yet, I would have it no other way.
As the time for your arrival draws near there are a few last things I want to wish for you… I want you to believe in the goodness of this world; despite its many broken parts, there are a lot of amazing things for you here. And I wish for you to be a light to shine in those dark places. I also want you to know that you will always have a safe haven in me, to run to, confide in and to always care for you as much as I can. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I want you to know that no matter what you do in this life, being your mom is the greatest gift you could ever give me. I am already so proud of you.
Love you forever,
Your mommy, Brittany.
