Higher calling
Dear Editor,
Out in the wild mysterious ether
Someone was needed to present the news and weather
The CEO checked His slate,
And, after very brief debate,
Decided a Jamaican will ideally fill the slot.
That’s where we got Desmond (Chambers), Neville
(Willoughby) and that lot.
So down He sent and claimed Dorraine,
Oblivious to our grief and pain.
He told her, “We know you are the best,
There is no need for any test.”
It is certainly our loss, but it’s their gain,
And we will never see her in the flesh again,
But in our hearts she lives forever
While she now broadcasts from the mysterious ether.
