Leeward Island Hurricanes 95-3 at lunch vs Jamaica Scorpions
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Leeward Island Hurricanes have progressed to 95-3 at lunch on the first day of their ninth round West Indies Championship four-day match against hosts Jamaica Scorpions and here at Sabina Park.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the Scorpions made early inroads in the first hour of play and had the Hurricanes at 60-3 at one point. Opener Montcin Hodge has so far top scored for Hurricanes with 35.
Devon Thomas, 29 not out and wicketkeeper/batsman Jahmar Hamilton on 16 will resume for the Hurricanes after the break.
Medium pacer Alwyn Williams has so far taken 2-28 for the Scorpions.
Williams is one of five changes for the Scorpions, who have also brought in wicketkeeper Oraine Williams, experienced finger spinner Nikita Miller, Kennar Lewis and Gordon Bryan.
Chadwick Walton, Jerome Taylor, Kenroy Williams, Derval Green and Aldaine Thomas are the players out.
