St Elizabeth Basil Waite Major League
Vineyard FC continued their dominance of the 2019 St Elizabeth Basil Waite Major League, after beating former champions Super Action FC 3-0 to stretch their unassailable lead to nine points.
Their 3-0 victory over Super Action at Lacovia Sports Complex last Wednesday is their third win. They beat Middle Quarters PYC in their first away fixture on January 31, and on February 7 they beat Ballaz FC 2-1 in their lone home game so far.
Many-time champions Tafari Lions are still rooted in second spot with six points from two outings. The Donovan Stone-coached team, which comprises young players from St Elizabeth Technical High School and other high schools, came out 2-0 winners in the season opener on January 27 and made it two from two, beating Middle Quarters PYC 2-1 last Sunday.
Newly promoted Goshen FC, who came off a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Middle Quarters at home on February 6, registered their first win of their campaign. They are on four points.
