18-y-o welder held with gun in downtown Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A team of officers assigned to the Kingston Western Police Division arrested and charged one man in connection with a firearm and ammunition that was seized on Oxford Street in downtown Kingston yesterday.
He is 18-year-old Ruben Biggs, welder of Pink Lane, Kingston 14.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 8:30 pm, lawmen were in the area when the saw two men, one of whom ran. The other was accosted, searched and one Colt .380 semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing eight .380 rounds of ammunition was found in his possession.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
He is to appear the Gun Court at a later date.
Investigations continue.
