In Like Flynn is a biopic about Errol Flynn’s early life as a smuggler and adventurer before becoming a famous celebrity. The film is based on Errol Flynn’s early autobiography Beam Ends and grandson Luke is the film’s executive producer and writer
Last Friday, eight stylish ladies slipped into a limo and headed to Ocho Rios for the inaugural ZILA Tea Party. Held at Di Wine Yaad at Miss T’s Kitchen, the event had a clear dress code — local everything! The head-to-toe look of each attendee comprised eco-friendly earrings from Aviola Accessories, a linen dress from Ocho Rios design house Polka Dots and sandals from Jamaican Sandal Co. Speaking of fashion, Winnie Harlow graces the cover of the February issue of Elle Czech. In an Instagram post, the Jamaican-blooded model commented that oftentimes she doesn’t allow her natural hair to be used for shoots as she “is all about protecting my kinks and curls”. The Elle Czech team ensured that the glam squad included one of Harlow’s main hairdressers.

Across the Pond, a Jamaican play has taken London’s West End by storm! Nine Night written by Natasha Gordon is “the first play by a black British female playwright to make it into the West End”. Huzza! Born to Jamaican parents in North London, Gordon won the prestigious Charles Wintour Award for most promising playwright at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards on November 19. Nine Night débuted at the National Theatre in April of last year and due to its acclaim will enjoy a West End run until February 23.

Who woulda thunk that the Spring 2019 Valentino couture show would have four Jamaican models on the runway? The collection which was described by British Vogue publishing director Vanessa Kingori as “a game changer” saw Saint International models Naki Depass and Tami Williams walking looks 10 and 28, respectively; Pulse model Miqueal-Symone in look 18, while Naomi Campbell closed the show. Naturally.

Olympian Usain Bolt jetted off to South Africa on Thursday for the launch of the new cuvée of his Mumm Champagne — Olympe Rosé. Bolt shared the news with his over eight million Instagram fans with a cheeky caption: “The feeling of drinking your own Champagne”. Not many will know that sensation. Cheers Usain!
