Breakfast at Sunrise
On New Year’s morning, while the rest of The Rock slept off New Year’s Eve revelry, the sunnation Sunrise Breakfast Party broke dawn at the 2019 iteration of its annual breakfast party series. No one, including Friday Social, anticipated the turnout — hundreds of locals, overseas college students on break, sponsors, and followers of the hit party series — at the sunnation Estate, University of the West Indies, Mona. Paper umbrellas, paper fans, and branded tumblers with a lot of bling were some of the party favours available to patrons on entry.
A food court provided a m é lange of traditional breakfast items from Tastee Patties, Maggi, KFC, Pancake House, and booths designated to those with a hankering for Jamexican or Jamaican staples.
Some came for the breakfast, others turned up for the alcohol at one of several Barcode watering holes. There was even a premium bar that provided bottle service and bottles of Hennessy XO at $100K a pop. And, if it got too hot, air mystifiers at the main stage cooled down everyone nearby. Neither sun nor heat however, could outshine the performances from reggae and dancehall acts like Koffee, TeeJay, the UpTop Boss, Shenseea, Aidonia, Govana, and Stylo G.
