Water supply disruptions affect sections of St Andrew, Clarendon
KINGSTON, Jamaica
— The National Water Commission (NWC) says that operation at the Bushy Park pumping station in Clarendon is suspended due to an internal electrical problem, while Jamaica Public Service power supply problems at the Bucky Plain and Port Royal pump stations in St Andrew have rendered them out of service.
Areas affected in Clarendon are: Bucknor, Bailey’s Ave, Rectory Land, Rectory Road, Chapelton Road, Bushy Park Housing Scheme, Bucks Haven, Bell Drive, North St., Howard Ave, West Park Ave, Harris St., Manchester Ave, Treadlight, Western Park, Evans Heights, Meadowlands and all roads leading off.
The NWC says it is presently working to have the Bushy Park problem corrected and is estimating regular service to be restored to the affected areas by late tonight, Saturday, December 29.
Meanwhile, areas affected in St Andrew include: Unity, Fern Hill, Pigeon Valley, Grant Hill, Goulbourne, Port Royal and Henry Morgan`s Boulevard.
Customers can expect a resumption of their regular service as soon as the JPS power supply is restored at the facilities, the NWC said.
