Arnett on Monday stroll
Arnett Gardens FC eased into a relaxed 2-0 win against bottom-placed Dunbeholden FC to hold steady at fourth position on 30 points in the Red Stripe Premier League, in a late kick-off at Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday.
A goal in each half from Tamar Edwards (44th minute) and Zhelano Barnes (63rd) did the trick that established a three-point cushion on the high-riding Mount Pleasant FC, who were both knotted up on 27 points each before the game.
However, with their cellar-dwelling opponents failing to get on the scoresheet this let the winners off lightly even when they looked more interested in taking on the approaching Christmas celebrations with a very ragged first-half display, save for a tremendous opening goal from Barnes.
The somewhat below par display from Arnett Gardens gave Dunbeholden a look in, but they, too, came up short and remained rooted at the foot of the standings on 13 points.
