ONLINE READERS COMMENTS: Christmas has lost its meaning
Editor,
Christmas has lost its value, meaning, purpose and good reputation – pertaining to good Christmas music, especially the good, original Christmas carols, about 15 years ago and as the years go by, it’s getting worse.
Even these happy Christmas carols: “Ding dong merrily on high,” ” Good King Wenceslas,” and, “Once in Royal David’s City” and more glorious ones it seems like everything that’s good is coming to an end. It’s really true that, good things don’t last forever.
Only a few radio stations play Christmas music to a certain extent during the Christmas season; and when they do, it’s far from fitting into the good, traditional Christmas. The more we play happy Christmas songs, it’s the more we will feel the spirit of Xmas; on the other hand, the more Reggae music or dance music we play – we just kill the real meaning and purpose of Christmas.
And even though we talk so many times, about the death of the good Christmas music – no one seems to care; they just continue to mash down the spirit and feelings of Christmas with irrelevant music: music that does not fit for the season.
Thank you very much.
Yours truly,
Donald J McKoy.
