Lennox ‘Buppy’ Brown strikes a balance
Lennox “Buppy” Brown has never abandoned music, his first love. The actor recently released Fling It Up which is produced by Trenten Gumbs.
“My interest in music developed from I was a youth, while hanging with my dad at recording studios. I used to go to the dancehall and see how folks reacted to artistes who were performing, so that gave me the motivation,” said Brown.
He did a three-year stint with the Star Tone sound system, before getting a job aboard a cruise line as a bellhop. At nights, he would perform cover songs on the ship.
The acting bug also bit him and he developed his craft through theatrical workshops. His earliest credits include Enemy of The State, a 1998 action thriller which starred Will Smith and Gene Hackman; and Blade I and II which starred Wesley Snipes.
“I was blessed to get into some acting and do stand-in roles for actors such as Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes, Forest Whittaker, Samuel Jackson, and Mekhi Phifer, among others,” Brown explained.
His television credits include ER, The Wayans Brothers, House of Lies and Family Time.
Brown also performed with a band in California called The Uplifters.
In January, he is expected to release Love Vibrations, his debut solo album which is produced by Trenten Gumbs for Harvest Studios.
“The album is all about love and its pure positive vibes,” said Brown.
