Kim Nain to strike real Deal
Singer/songwriter Kim Nain is set to release her debut album later this month. The compilation project, dubbed Deal Wid It, has 11 tracks.
“I feel a sense of release from my album. I’ve had all this music and energy bottled up for a long time and this body of work gives me a sense of release and opens a chapter of my story for the whole world to see, and I’m okay with that. It’s my time to let go,” she said.
Slated for release on November 23 on the John John Music Group and DZL Records imprints, Deal Wid It showcases Kim Nain’s artistic versatility as she takes listeners through a myriad of genres, including reggae, dancehall, hip hop, R&B and trap.
Agent Sasco, Bugle, Devin Di Dakta, Naomi Cowan, Destiny Sparta, and Versi are featured on the set, which will be distributed by Zojak World Wide.
In recent times, the singer has been racking up the touring miles. Since the start of the year, she has been to Antigua, Dominica Republic, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and the United States. She said the experience was immeasurable.
“Travelling and performing on the international circuit has exposed me to a lot of diverse cultures and social interactions, many of which have helped in crafting the feel and sound of this album. I never wanted to create just another reggae/dancehall album but something that would be truly representative of me as an artiste and all my experiences,” she said.
Originally from Spanish Town, Nain says she has been recording since 2008. Her first release, Angel, came the following year and was produced by Delroy Pottinger.
Her other songs include Move On, All My Trust, Deep in Love, and Sweat (ft Natel and Mr Vegas).
