What is your fondest childhood memory?

Being on the back of my grandmother’s gardener Mr Powell’s motorcycle going up and down Russell Heights.

What is your idea of a perfect weekend in Kingston?

Having dim sum at Royale Palace restaurant, visiting Holywell, taking a dip in a river, watching a couple of documentaries and then something hilarious before bed.

What’s the most memorable meal that you’ve had in Kingston?

That’s tough. There are so many. Currently, there’s a guy near The Queen’s High School who has been cooking up some good food out of his home on Fridays.

Which five words best describe you?

Unorthodox, creative, sarcastic, adventurous and honest.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

Cooking dinner for my wife of two years Lee-Anne and the next morning, breakfast in bed.

Were you given Jamaica to govern, which three things would you immediately address?

Crime, education and policies that impact the environment.

What is the mission of Plant Jamaica?

To make it as easy for people to know how to use the environment for profit, climate, food and lifestyle activity, as well as inspire them to lower their carbon footprint.

What are a few simple steps that people can take to lower their carbon footprint?

Capture rainfall from roofs to water plants and trees, carpool, compost, use reusable water bottles and make or buy environmentally friendly soaps, cleaners and detergents.

How long has Plant Jamaica been in existence?

I’ve been doing this project, as well as designing and building organic gardens, for about four years now.

A night out or a night in?

Both.

What’s your last major splurge purchase?

Can’t say I’ve splurged on anything for myself lately. But I did order a custom chef knife set as a gift for a friend from Karma Knives — a bespoke knife company run by University of Technology, Jamaica student Jabulani Johnson.

Where’s your preferred chill spot?

The hills of St Andrew.

Strength of a man’s name. It means to have integrity.
