Mile Gully High, Maggotty clash in D’Cup quarter-finals
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Mile Gully High and Maggotty High will meet today in their second ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup quarter-final Group One game at Manchester High as they seek to revive their hopes of making a run at the semi-finals or a spot in the ISSA Champions Cup KO.
Both teams lost their opening quarter-final games by similar 1-0 margins on Tuesday, Mile Gully going down to Port Antonio High and Maggotty High losing to Frome Technical.
Seven more games will be played tomorrow when the second set of games continue with double headers at Juici Field, the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex and Manchester High.
After trips to Lucea on Saturday and Port Antonio on Tuesday, Mile Gully will welcome the short trip to Manchester High for today’s game.
The Baron Watson-coached team will hope to recover some of the form that they used in their two games against dethroned champions Rusea’s High, winning 2-1 at home then losing 2-3 in Lucea to advance on away goals rule in the 4-4 draw.
Maggotty High also advanced to the quarter-finals on away goals after drawing 0-0 at home and 1-1 away to Cedric Titus High.
