Master Of Hall – improving leaps and bounds
“He is a very good horse. I have said that from the first day he walked through my stables’ gate and he is proving himself,” said trainer Fitzroy Glispie after his charge Master Of Hall demolished rivals to win the Royal Dad Trophy feature at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
Ridden by jockey Oneil Scott, Master Of Hall, turned on his class in deep stretch to crush rivals by six lengths, cantering the final furlong (100m) in the Restricted Allowance event over nine furlongs and 25 yards.
With chopping splits of 28.2, 53.3, 1:17.4 and 1:42.3, the final time of 1:56.3 was something to talk about especially for a horse running for only the fifth time in his career.
“Very impressive. I mean the performance by Master Of Hall today (Wednesday) was an impressive one as he continues to show his true worth. He has class talent for sure.
“ Master Of Hall continues to improve with each run and what is most important is that he has a lot more scope for improvement. From this, Master Of Hall will only get better and better here on. I am very much happy with him at the moment,” Glispe stated.
Master Of Hall toyed with his opponents from start to finish on Wednesday. The bay gelding broke among the backmarkers and watched as Jacko Links (Dane Dawkins) carried the field around the clubhouse turn, tracked by Storm (Christopher Mamdeen).
Master Of Hall then progressed to fourth place at the six-furlong (1,200m) point just waiting to pounce.
Turning for home, Master Of Hall picked up the lead effortlessly cruised home. Anna Lisa (Omar Walker) ended in second place, 1/2 length in front of Storm.
“To be honest, I am not sure where he goes from here on in terms of his racing. He still has another run in this class and there’s no race for him, as the only races for the rest of the month are sprint races and so I don’t know where next,” said Glispie
