100 MoBay
Buoyed by the success and the opportunities for the still largely untapped Jamaican food and entertainment market, proprietors of Kingston hotspot 100 locked in coordinates 18.50 N / 77.90 W for expansion.
Robin Perkins, director of operations for Sizzling Slots, operators of 100, explained that Montego Bay was decided on unanimously by the team as the next location for expansion of the brand. That goal became a reality in August of this year.
Thursday Food checked into the well-executed grand opening earlier this year; however, we had to come back and give you the ‘full hundred’ (dancehall fans, we know you said that in the Lexxus voice).
100 brings its brand of entertainment which consists of a 160-seat gaming lounge, weekly live performances with comedians, reggae and dancehall artistes, as well as special themed nights. ‘Foodventurers’ will also appreciate the full menu range consisting of pizzas, burgers, pastas, steaks, Jamaican jerk fare as well as signature cocktails.
“100 is a place for everyone. We thrive on being able to provide a space where everyone can come and enjoy not just the food but the ambiance and entertainment, as well. This is the guiding principle behind everything we do. With this as our guide we created a menu that was the perfect fit for all! We have a wide selection with everything from internationally renowned food favourites to 100 originals,” said Perkins.
The eatery also offers daily Jamaican lunch specials with items such as stewed peas, curried goat, oxtail and jerked chicken.
The proprietors are keen on patron satisfaction, so they have added options including $500 Sundays, giving guests the choice of Appleton Estate Blends, J Wray & Nephew, Campari or Skyy vodka cues for $500 each. The establishment is also big on cocktails, and weekly Happy Hour specials run from Monday to Thursday, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with cocktails starting from $100.
“An inclusive feel is definitely a part of the lure of 100. everyone can find something among our offerings to fit their taste. we are the place they can always come back to for great food, great vibes and great entertainment. We offer a wide variety of options to choose from, ranging from different spaces to dine to themed nights like VIP Sundays and our Comedy Bar on Thursdays. We are the premier destination for entertainment with so much to enjoy, and we believe in catering to all our customers’ varied interests,” Perkins added.
“Additionally, nothing at 100 is set in stone. We are always moving with time; if something is hot we are going to jump on it. We pride ourselves on always growing, evolving and keeping up to date with the hottest and latest trends,” Perkins said further.
Perkins also went on to explain that the response to the new menu has been great. The top-selling item is the 100 BBQ chicken which is a half-chicken cooked to perfection in their slow and low BBQ sauce, served with market vegetables, corn and coleslaw. The Oxtail Arancini appetiser is also proving to be a big hit.
“We are truly grateful for the overwhelming support we have been getting and we look forward to making the experience even better. We will tweak as necessary, as patron satisfaction is our main priority,” Perkins concluded.
Thursday Food suggests 100 MoBay be added to your Sunday afternoon dining-out options.
