Everything Fresh signs distribution deal with Crafton Holdings
Newly listed company Everything Fresh Ltd last Friday announced that it has partnered with liquid eggs producer, Crafton Holdings for the distribution of its products in Jamaica.
The partnership between the local companies could, however, result in Everything Fresh securing logistics arrangement with Crafton Holdings for destinations outside of Jamaica, considering that the egg producer is looking to export its product to Trinidad and Tobago among other Caribbean destinations but is challenged by small export volumes.
“The amount that is being ordered does not fill a container. Our product is cold storage and there are not many items going that direction chilled; you may have a few going frozen and others going regular temperate, but not many going zero to five degrees,” Crawford previously told the Jamaica Observer.
“If we get two more orders, that probably could fill the container. But you’re left waiting until you get another order, and with business that’s not going to work,” he continued.
Aside from improving business in Jamaica, Everything Fresh is looking to get a toehold in the international market through the exportation of Jamaican products. A premier importer and distributor of fruits, vegetables, dairy, and other food products, the company also disclosed plans to acquire a local entity in an effort to cross over into different business lines while expanding its current imports portfolio to include locally produced products.
“A lot of what we’ve been doing has been geared towards exporting Jamaican products and supporting local industry, particularly Jamaican farmers,” Chairman of Everything Fresh Ltd Gregory Pullen told shareholders during the listing ceremony at the Jamaica Stock Exchange in Kingston.
In reinforcing his commitment to support local industries and Jamaican farmers, Pullen named Crafton Holdings Limited as one company he has partnered with for distribution of Everything Fresh products.
Everything Fresh’s initial public offering, brokered by Stocks & Securities Limited, offered 156 million shares at $2.50 per unit — 26.3 million of the shares will be available for subscription by the general public. The subscription, which ran from the period May 17-24, saw the 14-year-old company raising $390 million with a total of 1,363 shareholders.
Prior to listing, Everything Fresh hoped to expand not only its product line, but outside of Jamaica. The company is steadily moving toward that goal with the soon to be completed overseas operation that is expected to increase revenue growth for the company.
Everything Fresh marginally increased net profit 1.72 per cent in 2018. The company, however, opened trading on Wednesday below last Friday’s listing price as investors bid down the stock 20 per cent.
Everything Fresh listed on Friday at $2.50 and ascended to a high of $2.80 before closing lower on Tuesday at $2.12. Consider that it will open trading at $2.38 but the highest bid in the queue is currently at $2.00.
