Colley on the move
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Defending champions Green Pond will put their perfect record on the line on Sunday when they face MoBay United in the final of the St James Football Association’s Western Union Under-15 competition at the UDC field. This encounter is set to start at 2:00 pm.
Both teams scored big wins in Saturday’s semi-finals played at the same venue, and Sunday’s final promises to be close between two teams that appear to be peaking at the right time.
Cleve Gayle scored twice for Green Pond in their 4-1 win over Bogue FC, while MoBay United were 5-0 winners over West Green.
David Morris opened the scoring in the 20th minute when he put Green Pond in the lead before Gayle scored the first of his brace in the 27th minute to add to the lead.
Renardo Grant pulled one goal back for Bogue FC in the 40th minute, but Ashane Facey in the 53rd minute and Gayle in the 71st made sure of the victory.
Green Pond, who topped the regular season with a perfect six-game win record, dominated the regular season by scoring 32 goals in their six wins while conceding just two goals.
