Vows: The Law Of Love
There was nothing extraordinary about their initial encounter, or so it appeared. Cupid’s arrow, however, was hovering when Myers, Fletcher and Gordon attorney-at-law Adrian Cotterell met Trichana Gray government attorney-at-law at the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies, Mona. Their paths would cross again a few years later when they landed internships at the same law firm. Friendship bloomed and would soon turn into love. The stars had aligned and on Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the presence of family and close friends at the Mona Chapel, the two made it official. But first there was the proposal…
“We got engaged at Royalton White Sands, Trelawny on Saturday, July 1, 2017,” Adrian shared. “I got some candles, went over to the man-made island. Trichana loves vlogs so I made a vlog, which consisted of us driving around Kingston to various important places in our relationship. I called her and asked her to watch it then come over to the little island, and that’s where she said yes.”
Here comes the bride
The start of the proceedings was signalled by the arrival of the bridesmaids, who wore dusty blue infinity dresses. They were escorted up the aisle, to the strains of Coldplay’s Yellow, by the groomsmen clad in navy blue, single-breasted suits with floral patterned baby blue ties and white lapel flowers. With Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years as her wedding song, Trichana made her way up the aisle on the arm of her father, Gregory Gray. She was beautiful in a Maggie Sottero mermaid gown with an attached bolero and cathedral veil from Bliss Bridal Boutique. The groom, dapper in a navy blue velvet jacket, black tuxedo trousers, white shirt and black satin bow tie, awaited his bride’s arrival. Once delivered to her groom by her father the ceremony began, officiated by Bishop Herro Blair.
The reception…
followed inside the Gold Room at Mona Visitors’ Lodge where emcee Ramon Clayton kept things light and the mood festive. 24K Magic by Bruno Mars rang out in the ballroom as the bridal party made their entrance, followed by the newly-weds, to Joseph Stepper’s Wife and Bruno Mars’s Finesse featuring Cardi B. This was followed by the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to Ed Sheeran’s I Was Made For Loving You, featuring Tori Kelly. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal courtesy of Chef Theo Smith for Great House Caterers and witnessed the cutting of the three-tiered French vanilla cake with butter cream frosting by Confections of a Sugar Junkie.
Formalities over the newly-weds and their guests danced up a storm to the tunes of DJ Hugh Brown. It was truly an occasion to remember.
The honeymoon
The couple honeymooned at Excellence La Playa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico, while there they also visited Chichen Itza, one of the seven new wonders of the world.
