RACE -1- $180,000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UPW ARDS) 1820METRES/9FURS.+25YARDS
Well-fancied Flying Miracle had early problems, with the rider foot slipping out of the stirrup shortly after the start. Stan Roy tracked No Money Friend and Shellian Grey down the backstretch before overtaking both to go clear easily with 800 metres to come. Staying on strongly in the straight, Stan Roy came to the wire all of seven lengths clear of No Money Friend who was well clear of the rest.
RACE -2-$350-300,000 CLAIMING (3-YE AR-OLDS&UP) 1500METRES/7 1/2FURLONGS
Burlin was slowly away from the gates while Trini Magic’s rider lost one stirrup iron 800 metres out. Sir Frederick led Smokescreen, All Correct and Unbreakable down the backstretch. With 900 metres to run Burlin could still see all her rivals, but commenced a very strong run at the leaders shortly thereafter. Leading into the straight, Sir Frederick tried to see out the trip, but Burlin running on the far rails struck the front at the distance and won by 7½ lengths, with All Correct in second six lengths clear of Unbreakable.
RACE -3-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II DIV1 (3YOS) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS ROUND
Nuclear Flight had the worst start possible while Princess Zella sprinted to the front and was stalked by the irresolute Harry’s Train to the top of the stretch. Drone Strike was driven from 500 metres out and saved ground entering the straight to go in chase of Princess Zella and went by with 200 metres remaining. Nuclear Flight travelled strongly throughout and produced an irresistiblesurge in the last 50 metres to score by three parts of a length, with Son Son’s late burst bettering Drone Strike by a head for the runner-up spot.
RACE-4-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II DIV II (3YOS) 1000METRES/5FURLS ROUND
From a very sharp break, Formal Gladiator led Dee Danger who took over in the upper stretch. Super Sparkle went in earnest pursuit of the leaders 700 metres away from the finish. Dee Danger was a convincing leader at the distance and his backers had every right to be optimistic, however the American-bred Super Sparkle responded well to strong handling inside the last 100 metres and prevailed for a well-deserved maiden victory.
RACE-5-$450-400,000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS
It was a sudden return to form by Zackontheattack as he was hustled to the early lead and seemingly had his field in vain pursuit inside the first 200 metres. Colleen and Memory Of TS chased as a team, with the latter going into second in the final part of the bend. Zackontheattack kept finding more once he came off the bridle, and ran particularly well inside the last 100 metres to hold the lead safely for his 13th victory from his 54 appearances.
RACE-6-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE III (4YOS&UP/NW3 O/T) 1800METRES/9FURLS
Rising Bop led Sotomayor to the 900-metre mark, with Simply Ou trageous on the inner rails joining with 800 metres to come. Both Sotomayor and Simply Outrageous went clear approaching the final bend together and had a real battle until the superior class of the former told inside the last 150 metres for a length-and-a-half victory margin.
RACE-7-MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT DIV I (3YOFILLIES) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS STRAIGHT
Precocious Value led until overtaken 300 metres out by Quantum Dancer who delivered a well anticipated victory on debut. The well-conformed filly did absolutely nothing wrong, scoring by just over two lengths with Cerasini, having been outpaced early, closing nicely for second four lengths ahead of Mrs Kim in third.
RACE-8-RESTRICTED STAKES (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1600METRES/8FURLONGS
The faint-hearted Go Go Girl led Honey Ryda and My Sugarman until dropping out tamely with 700 metres to race. My Sugarman led Honey Ryda into the stretch drive and these engaged in a hard-fought battle, with the latter staying on better. Held up well off the early pace, My Elle Belle made steady headway around the bend to straighten wide and full of running. Although running greenly, with a swerve to the right and then to the left inside the last 200, the improving American-bred filly won by just over two lengths easing down.
RACE-9-MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT DIV II (3YOFILLIES) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS STRAIGHT
Aria led to the 300 metre-mark before weakening to be first overtaken by Miss In Kiss. Francine proved to be the best on the day as she edged to track centre from her far side draw and went by the leaders 100 metres from the finish to upset the odds and beat Miss In Kiss by over two lengths.
RACE-10-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE V (4YOS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS
From a fast break Aurelia’s Summer led Strikinglygorgeous, Happy Lee and Princess Katriel to the top of the stretch. Disposing of the only challenger, Strikinglygorgeous, approaching the distance, Aurelia’s Summer scored convincingly by four lengths, with Flowers Thirty bettering Moirai by three parts of a length for second.
RACE-11-OVERNIGHT ALLOWANCE (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS
Former champion sprinter Poker Star, now six-years-old, was extremely well in at the weights and made that fact count. Polly B pressed Poker Star who led on the inside to the top of the stretch. Holding a significant advantage at the distance, Poker Star kept on well inside the final 100 metres and ensured that Soy El Senor’s late challenge failed by a length and a half. Hard-knocking Sarah Lee was always prominent and secured third place easily ahead of the early, pace-making Polly B.
