Footloose pulls massive crowd
It was no easy task trying to get into the Mas Camp for the Short Shorts edition of the Stones Ginger Wine Footloose retro party recently.
It was the first staging since the start of the year, but once patrons got on the inside, any inconveniences experienced on the outside were quickly forgotten, as the music was enough to take patrons on a journey back in time.
DJs including Arif Cooper, Liquid and Alpachino provided the music.
Quite a few retro-themed parties have fallen by the wayside over the years, but Footloose seems to have a formula that continues to pull a massive crowd.
“Our continued success is because of the continuous support from our patrons and a dedicated team,” promoter Tyrone Dixon of Broadway Productions told Jamaica Observer.
Dixon and his team first staged Footloose in the summer of 2006 and since then, there has been no turning back.
“We wanted an event to help patrons relive the hits from the past while enjoying themselves in a safe environment, with lots of fun and excitement. We have delivered that,” said Dixon.
Dixon gave credit to patrons whom he believes were the highlight of the latest instalment.
“I would give credit to the patrons because it was evident that they came out to party. In addition, the energy from the DJs created a phenomenal vibe.”
And while patrons soaked up the old-school hits, they also enjoyed several offerings from sponsors, including Stones Ginger Wine in the form of bucket deals.
