Thursday Food spotlights more spectacular booths displayed at the 20th staging of the Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards, held on May 31 at Devon House.
100 Reasons by 100 Hope Road
Dining, gaming and entertainment hot spot 100 Hope Road was afforded the opportunity toafforded give patrons 100 reasons to visit their establishment at Hope Road in Kingston.
The 40 by 20 ft space was exquisitely decorated by event planner Giselle Vassell, who incorporated a modern take on Victorian style with the predominant colours being black and white stylishly accentuated with a hint of green, soft yellows and bold silver. For the booth, 100 created a covered food and beverage area with lit seating and a chequered terrace which had additional seating and bistro tables for guests.
The sumptuous fare — oxtail balls, pasta, jerk pork, cheesecake balls and crab wontons — was served buffet-style and tantalised the palate enough to pique interest in the food at 100 Hope Road.
100 also brought to the Food Awards four of its signature cocktails, notably: The Chain Smoker, which was made with Campari; Resaca, made with vodka; 100 Hawaiian, made with Appleton VX; and Cool Frost, made with JWN White Rum. As a dynamic brand which offers entertainment in multiple forms — from comedy, themed nights, parties to live music — it was important that the space that both sophisticated and fun. Add to that the boothe was outfitted with a DJ, who played music from the verandah, and a mime, who exclusively and theatrically offered guests Champagne throughout the evening.
