Golden Touch, Delveland meet in Westmoreland FA Major League final
LLANDILLO, Westmoreland — The champions of the Westmoreland Football Association’s Dujon Construction Ltd Major League will be decided when Golden Touch FC and Delveland FC meet in today’s final at Llandillo Complex starting at 3:00 pm.
Today’s winners will be the third team to qualify for next season’s Western Confederation Super League, joining Somerton FC of St James and Falmouth United of Trelawny who won their respective leagues earlier.
Golden Touch FC and Delveland FC qualified for the final after close wins in the semi-finals played last week at Llandillo.
Golden Touch FC earned their place after they edged George’s Plain FC 1-0 in their semi-final, with Obrian Warren scoring the winning goal in the 10th minute.
In the other semi-final, Delveland FC won 6-5 on sudden death penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw following regulation and extra time.
Malicke Williams gave Delveland FC the lead in the 22nd minute before Daren Sterling equalised in the 78th minute to give his team a chance.
