UDC surprise Kingston Wharves in Division One domino
Urban Development Corporation (UDC) earned their win for the season after defeating former champions Kingston Wharves 102-97 in the fifth round of the Division One League in the 2018 National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB) Kingston & St Andrew Region/Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House competition last Friday.
Kingston Wharves were expected to be comfortable winners against the struggling UDC team, but playing at their home base at 12 Ocean Boulevard in Kingston, UDC completely turned around their form with a well-needed win to ensure their hope of reaching the quarter-finals are still alive.
Defending champions Campari were also winners as they defeated Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) 117-97 to stay on course for a quarter-final spot.
In other results, Jamaica Observer, after chalking up two consecutive wins on the trot, lost to visitors Wray & Nephew Limited 110-129 at 40-42 ½ Beachwood Avenue, National Commercial Bank (NCB) beat Ministry of Finance (MOF) 113-98, and Petrojam got the better of Seprod 116-101.
In the lower division, Gleaner continued their perfect run when they defeated Jamaica Customs Agency 136-103, Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) turned the tables on Kris an Charles with a 120-114 win, Digicel went down 97-100 to National Housing Trust (NHT), Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) ended Sagicor Jamaica’s unbeaten run with a 157-133 whipping, and Stewart’s Auto Parts rebounded with a 142-130 win over General Accident.
Round six continues with full slate of matches in both divisions today.
In Division One, Kingston Wharves host Wray & Nephew Limited, Petrojam entertain UDC, Jamaica Observer travel to NCB, Campari are on the road to MOF, and Seprod host JUTC.
In Division Two, BOJ welcome Sagicor Jamaica, Kris an Charles entertain General Accident, Stewart’s Auto Parts travel to Digicel, PAJ host Gleaner, and Jamaica Customs Agency welcome NHT.
