MoBay Crab Fest set for May 19
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The eight staging of the highly anticipated family event, the MoBay Crab Festival, is set for Pier One in Montego Bay on Saturday, May 19.
The event which has developed a strong following for its wide array of seafood and great entertainment, promises no less this year, as more attention is being placed on patron experience, and more top-flight artistes, according to the promoters.
“We are putting in added measures to ensure satisfaction. If we have rain we are prepared for that, we will have servers moving around the grounds to ensure faster delivery of food and we are making the kiddies village even bigger. The line-up of artistes is the largest we have ever had, and we are starting earlier to ensure we are within the timelines of the security measures. The focus for us is a premium family event in a safe environment and the best experience possible,” explained Kareem Jennings of Elite Conceptz and Solutionz, organisers of the event.
This year, the event will feature Govanna, who is enjoying a wave of success with hits such as Gyal Clown, Bake Bean and Breeze in collaboration with Aidonia, and the hot new single Better Than That, done with fast-rising female sensation Jada Kingdom.
Also featured are Agent Sasco, Chris Martin and gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards. Strong performances are also expected from Digicel Rising Star 2017 winner, Short Boss, and local star Ricky Teetz, as well as gospel act Anavah Love Jones.
Comedian Pretty Boy Floyd is down for hosting duties, while local DJs, Crazy Chris, Jigga and Crazy Neil, are on the roll for music.
Gates open at 12 noon, and the live entertainment segment is scheduled to start at 8:00 pm.
