Caution Blackout IX rocked
Residents of St Ann and surrounding communities got an early start to the Easter holiday with last Wednesday’s staging of Caution Blackout IX. Dubbed the All Black Classic 9th anniversary edition, the event is promoted by Caution Events. It took place at The Milestone, Salem in Runaway Bay.
The event attracted a massive turnout of patrons who partied non-stop until the wee hours of the morning. Their musical thirst was quenched thanks to a diverse line-up of selectors, including DJ Raymix and DJ Wurl Fresh (from Code Red), and the popular Bass Odyssey sound.
With the latest reggae and dancehall hits available patrons were also taken on a musical journey back in time with mega-sized retro hits. Also thrown in for good measure were hip hop, rhythm and blues and dance music.
“The vibe was as expected, very good; great music, high energy and lots of fun. We had a great turnout of patrons comprising a nice balance of dapper men and beautiful sexy ladies. The DJs did an awesome job of keeping the crowd moving all throughout the night,” said promoter Sollo Caution. “The highlight of the party has always been the crowd’s response and seeing everyone enjoy themselves. That, to me, is the epitome of a great party.”
Dancehall artiste Shizzle Sherlock put in a cameo performance reeling off his hit Think a Chattings.
Conceptualised nine years ago as a need to fill the void of entertainment events in St Ann during the Easter holidays, Caution Blackout is one of the must-attend dancehall events on the party calendar in that parish.
