Guyana PM returns following surgery in US
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo has returned to Guyana following successful heart surgery in the United States.
Nagamootoo, accompanied by his wife, Sita and his eldest daughter, Maria, had gone to the US in February to undergo the heart bypass surgery.
He was greeted on arrival here Thursday by several government ministers and well-wishers including the Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman and Member of Parliament, Michael Carrington.
In February, a routine medical examination here had revealed that the prime minister had some cardiac issues and had to undergo the heart bypass surgery at a medical institution in the USA.
A government statement said that following the successful surgery, he spent recovery time with relatives in the United States.
