Woman says accused couple threatening her with obeah
A woman who was reportedly assaulted by a couple after she was seen taking water from a drum on a property where they live, told the court that the couple had been threatening her with obeah.
“They keep threatening me with obeah. Him say a Vere him come from and him nuh fear no police and no judge and nothing naa come out a the case, and she say a St Thomas she come from,” the complainant said.
Davina Kilbourn and Jason Blake are both charged with unlawful wounding.
The court on Wednesday heard that Kilbourn held the complainant while Blake used a machete to slap her on her hand, causing a cut on one of her fingers.
Blake, however, told the court that the dispute was over a land boundary and asked for a restraining order against the complainant.
The matter was, however, referred for dispute resolution and scheduled for mention in court on June 6.
