Massive international gospel concert for National Stadium tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — An all-embracing line-up of world leading gospel acts will be on show Easter Monday night inside the national stadium for the massive “Unity in the City” concert.
The event is being supported by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports (CGES) and the patron is Minister, Olivia “Babsy” Grange.
The event is being organised by Swot Business Solutions, and will have at its theme ending violence against women and children.
Last year, fans were thoroughly entertained in Kingston and Montego Bay at the inaugural presentation last year. And, this year, all systems are set for another rip-roaring concert including the addition of international gospel singer Israel Houghton who will replace Tasha Cobbs.
Top acts scheduled to appear include Travis Greene, JJ Hairston, Houghton, Jermaine Edwards, Kevin Downswell, DJ Nicholas, and Ity Ellis (of Ity and Fancy Cat).
Headliner Travis Greene is no stranger to Jamaica. Last year praise and worship lovers could not get enough of him as he delivered a transcendent night of gospel songs. With memories still lingering of his awe inspiring stint on stage, Green is back to rekindle the gospel flame.
JJ Hairston, who is the leader and director of Youth Praise choir, is known for his exuberant, urban tinged gospel music. The event starts at 6:00pm.
