Students of St Francis Primary celebrate at the end of the two-day Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) on Friday. GSAT, which tests ability in mathematics,
language arts, social studies and communication tasks, was administered in 1,089 centres across the island this year, to students born in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
The high-school qualifying exam, which replaced the Common Entrance, has been administered annually in all primary level institutions since 1999. Effective
2019, it will be replaced by the Primary Exit Profile which the Ministry of Education says is designed to sharpen students’ critical thinking skills.
