Ratingz marks first anniversary
THERE was hardly any space inside the St Lucia Avenue parking lot in New Kingston recently, as patrons came out in large numbers for another staging of Ratingz.
The popular street dance marked it first anniversary in fine style, with a high cadre of DJs who spun musical delights all night to keep patrons entertained.
“The party was amazing, everything went according to plan,” shared promoter Tollani Reynolds.
“The highlight of the party was really the entire event. From start to finish, the whole event was a highlight,” he continued.
Promoted by Yung Rolaz, Reynolds shared the secret to the series’ continued success.
“The entire team put in a lot of work in promotions, social media and networking. Thanks to all who came out to support Ratingz,” he said.
Although Ratingz is dubbed a hardcore dancehall event, the disc jocks dug deep to unearth other genres of music to give patrons a variety during the proceedings.
Badda Bling from Di Unit, Bishop Escobar and Chromatic were responsible for the musical juggling.
“This is always a hardcore dancehall event, but we always make sure to give all genres of music to please everyone,” said Reynolds.
Dancehall artistes Bounty Killer and Jahvinci were seen at the event.
The second staging of Ratingz for 2018 will take place on July 7 at the St Lucia Avenue car park.
