Reggae Youths on key ahead of mid-season final
TUCKER, St James — Reggae Youths warmed up for Sunday’s mid-season final against Faulkland FC with a 3-0 win over Beaches Negril in their Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation/Charley’s JB Rum Super League Zone One clash at Wes p ow Park on Tuesday as the second-round came to a close.
Reggae Youths finished the round on 23 points, five more than second-placed Harmony FC, after they rebounded from their first loss of the season in the previous round against Harmony FC.
It was Reggae Youths’ second win over Beaches Negril this season after a 3-1 win in their first-round meeting.
The St James club were gifted a fifth-minute lead when Zemroy McEnnis scored on his own goalkeeper, but Reggae Youths had to wait until the 58th minute when Shanoy Anderson was well-placed at the near-right post to steer home a header from a cross.
Kemo Hoshing put the game out of reach of the Beaches Negril team in the 61st minute when he scored from a melee just inside the six-yard box.
