Buzz Nightmare to stand at stud
The Supreme Racing Guide has been informed of the retirement of Buzz Nightmare from racing. Buzz Nightgmare will be standing as one of the stallions at the HAM Stables stud farm in St Catherine.
Buzz Nightmare ( Into Mischief – Queen of Battle by Dance Brightly) was known during his competitive racing years for his blistering speed. The now six-year-old bay horse probably accomplished his best- ever victory on October 17, 2016 when he won the prestigious Gold Cup over seven furlongs in a very fast time of 1:23.4 defeating Phineas and Brawn in the process. The splits recorded by Buzz Nightmare for the Gold Cup win were: 23.2 x 45.4 x 1:10.1.
On May 14, coming down the five-straight course in Sarge Bucknor Trophy with Ian Spence in the saddle, Buzz Nightmare clocked a very fast 57.1 seconds after blazing splits of 22.2 x 44.1.
Overall Buzz Nightmare raced 17 times. He won 10 times, finished second once, and was unplaced the other six occasions he entered the starting gates at Caymanas Park.
He leaves for the breeding farm having earned $5,571,000. He was trained by Philip Feanny and is owned by 2 Penyou.
