Reggae Youths look to rebound in Western Confed Super League
TUCKER, St James — Reggae Youths will seek to rebound from their only loss of the season today when they play Beaches Negril at Wespow Park in in the second-round final game of the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation/Charley’s JB Rum Super League, before the mid-season final.
Despite their loss to Harmony FC last week, Reggae Youths will return to the mid-season final set for Jarrett Park on Sunday, where they will play Faulkland FC in an all-St James clash.
Reggae Youths, who won last season’s mid-season final, had topped Zone One with two games to go and are on 20 points, while Faulkland FC won Zone Two with 23 points.
On Sunday, Harmony FC closed the gap on Reggae Youths after beating Catherine Hall 2-0, as the Montego Bay team lost for the fourth time in their last five games, while Hopewell United and Montego Bay Boys Club drew 1-1 in Lucea.
Shaunovan McKenzie scored in time added on at the end of the first half and Paulington Johnson added a second in the 66th minute for Harmony FC, as they improved to 18 points in second place in Zone One.
In Lucea, the teams scored within a minute of each other in their stalemate. Tyrique Clarke gave Hopewell United a 56th-minute lead, and Roshane Reid responded in the 57th minute for Boys Club.
