PHOTOS: Sigma Run 2018
The 2018 staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run came and went this morning, and among its patrons were Prime Minister Andrew Holness and sprint legend Usain Bolt and his ‘A-Team’.
The 20th anniversary of the event attracted a record of 26, 519 participants who lined up along Knutsford Boulevard for the official start of the biggest charity road race in the Caribbean this morning. $50 million was raised this year, to help the run’s two beneficiaries: the Spanish Town Hospital Neonatal Unit and the St Christopher’s School for the Deaf.
Winners on the day included:
Ryon Chambers, who won the Male Open segment in a time of 18.28 minutes;
Ann-Marie Finegan, who won the Female Open section in a time of 23.27 minutes;
Duwell Allen, who won the Male Walker section in a time of 29.18 minutes;
Paula Sinclair, who won the Female Walker section in a time of 37.34 minutes;
Jamaican Paralympian Alphanso Cunningham, who won the Male Wheelers Segment in 25.15 minutes; and
Sylvia Grant who won the Female Wheelers Segment in 31.23 minutes.
