Denham Town ZOSO boundaries revised
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The security forces are reporting a revision of the boundaries of the Denham Town Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) in Kingston.
Denham Town was declared the island’s second ZOSO on October 17 by Prime Minister Andrew Holness under the Law Reform (Zones of Special Operations) (Special Security and Community Development Measures) Act 2017.
According to a ZOSO release this morning, the new boundaries will include an area in the community commonly called Shooters Hill.
The new border has now pushed the boundary at Albert Street further westward to include Water Lane. The new western boundary is now Little King Street.
On the northern side, the boundary is pushed northward from Greenwich Street to Blount Street. The revised boundaries have resulted in borders as follows:
North – Starting at the intersection of Little King Street and Race Course Lane (Blount Street), travelling to the fence line forming the western periphery of the Golden Heights housing development, also annexing the northern and eastern sections of the development, traveling south along the paved gully and continuing to the intersection of William Street and Upper Rose Lane. East – Starting at the intersection of William Street and Upper Rose Lane and continuing south along Rose Lane to the intersection of Beeston Street and Rose Lane.
South – Starting at the intersection of Beeston Street and Rose Lane continuing west along Beeston Street to the intersection with Spanish Town Road.
West – Starting at the intersection of Beeston Street and Spanish Town Road continuing north west along Spanish Town Road to the intersection of North Street and Spanish Town Road; the east onto North Street to the intersection with East Street, moving north along East Street to the corner of the perimeter wall of the Denham Town Primary School, then travelling south westerly along the perimeter wall of the primary school that abuts a line of residence projected along a fence line on a similar trend and ending along a section of Spanish Town Road and Albert Street in the vicinity of the Denham Town Police Station; continuing along Albert Street to the north eastern property boundary of the Denham Town police station travelling west north west along the perimeter wall marking northern extent of the police station to the north west boundary of the police station trending south westerly along Water Street to Spanish Town Road then continuing along Spanish Town Road to the intersection with Little King Street; travelling north easterly along Little King Street to the start point.
The Denham Town Primary School continues to remain outside the zone to allow unhindered access to student and teachers.
