NWA works cause restrictions on Papine to Redlight District roadway
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Traffic restrictions will be in effect, starting immediately, along the main road from Papine to Redlight District in St Andrew as road improvement works get underway, the National Works Agency (NWA) has announced.
The restriction pertains to the section of the road leading through the community of Griffin Gully, the NWA said in a release today.
Manager, Communication and Customer Service at the NWA, Stephen Shaw cautioned that due to the nature of the work being undertaken only vehicles under 10 tonnes should traverse the corridor.
Shaw said that the restrictions are expected to be in effect for the next three weeks and is warning operators of trucks that they risk damage to property and loss of lives should they not abide by the restriction.
