Shoppers relish TSO bargains despite hurdles in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth — Overcast and drizzly conditions and tough economic times meant Thursday’s Takes Style Out promotion wasn’t what it used to be in this south-central town.
The large shopping crowds of earlier years were absent.
But those shoppers who turned out appeared happy that they had found good bargains, with some stores offering as much as 50 per cent off in some cases.
Navine Forbes, who bought a handbag and slippers at House of Style in Santa Cruz, summed up the popular sentiment among shoppers.
“It was good; I got my money’s worth,” she told Jamaica Observer Central.
For cashier Venessa Smith at Maxie Department Store, while shopping was “not as good as last year, it still good”.
And Pauline Smith of House of Style thought “it look a little better than last year for us”.
