Fair Prospect slam Horace Clarke 5-1
Fair Prospect , Portland — Captain Kemar Lingard scored a hat-trick to lead Fair Prospect High to a 5-1 triumph over Horace Clarke High under wet conditions in their ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup Group L game at Fair Prospect last Saturday.
Lingard hit the target in the 18th, 28th, and 56th minutes, and was joined by Javuan Ingleton in the 30th minute, and Shemar Haughton in the 50th minute. Tevin Tucker replied for Horace Clarke High in the 88th minute.
Fair Prospect thus turned the tables on Horace Clarke after going down 0-4 in the first-round contest in what was considered a depleted team.
Lingard put his team ahead from a right-footed corner from the left which eluded everybody and landed in the goal. His second was a beauty from a free kick some 25 yards out to the right of the penalty area.
Two minutes later it was 3-0 when Ingleton lashed onto a ball just inside the penalty area and fired to the left of Tevin Tucker.
Both teams launched a number of attacks as Horace Clarke got used to the conditions through Daniel Ellis, Javis Wright and Najay Hardy, but Fair Prospect countered through Adrian Buckley, Shemar Haughton and Traydale Brown .
Fair Prospect continued where they left off on the resumption as Haughton fired home from close range, before Lingard advanced from defence to complete his hat-trick.
Horace Clarke pulled one back just before the game ended when custodian Tucker broke up an attack and saw custodian Shemarlo Buckley off his line, and his long kick bounced over Buckley’s head and lodged into an open goal.
Both teams are at the bottom of the group with Fair Prospect moving to seven and Horace Clarke remaining on three.
