#DesignWeekJA 2017 for the digital age
Making a stop at Tile City Home Centre at Constant Spring Road Friday, Jamaica Observer’s #DesignWeekJA 2017 got a peek at the ultra-modern in bathroom and kitchen fixtures, fitting perfectly in the digital age.
Director of Special Projects and Business Development at Tile City Home Centre, Victor Handal, anxious to demonstrate what he described as the most advanced shower system ever, introduced the DTV+ Digital System by Kohler.
Bringing water, sound, steam and light together, the Kohler system converts the bathroom into a 21st century spa-cum-music room, all controlled remotely.
“You can connect via your networks at home, or laptops or bluetooth,” Handal shared as he explained how to customise an ideal showering experience.
Bathroom lovers will delight in all that is offered — from water temperature, water pressure, ‘disco-esque’ lighting, to background music of choice, everything is a mere fingertip away.
Handal explained that the Kohler shower digitally records chosen settings that can be replicated at every bathroom visit for separate householders.
But the digital experience does not stop at showers. Not to be outdone the toilets have also joined the 21st century digital age, offering motion-sensor lifting and closing of seats; built in deodorisers, foot warmers, built-in bidets, and yes, music — loud music.
Kohler is a 144-year-old American company. Though it is best known for plumbing products, it also manufactures furniture, cabinetry, among other home products.
Tile City Home Centre is the sole authorised distributor for Kohler products in Jamaica.
